Finance disruptor launches mobile app for student expenses

One of the fastest growing UK companies of 2024, cloud accounting software developer iplicit, announces its collaboration with Konnekt365, a leading mobile app developer, to introduce a new student expenses solution for expense claims – ‘Student Expenses’.

The ‘Student Expenses’ app is designed to seamlessly integrate with finance disruptor iplicit’s award-winning cloud accounting software, offering a simplified solution for expense claims made within some 600 student unions in the UK.

The app is available on Apple and Android devices, as well as browsers, and combines iplicit’s software with Konnekt365’s expertise in mobile application development, which is set to cater to the diverse needs of union members managing expenses for clubs and societies.

By harnessing the capabilities of iplicit’s cloud accounting platform, ‘Student Expenses’ simplifies the expense claim process, providing users with enhanced efficiency and a user-friendly experience.

Paul Sparkes, Commercial Director at iplicit, said: “Our collaboration with Konnekt365 signifies a significant advancement in addressing the needs of student union members.

With Student Expenses, we aim to streamline expense management processes and empower users with greater efficiency. This partnership underscores our commitment to providing innovative solutions that drive success for our customers.”

Ian Randle, Managing Director of Konnekt365, said, “Student Expenses is a bridge between a union’s student management software and their finance system and streamlines expense management processes.”

Student Expenses seamlessly integrates with the union’s system to identify registered students, enabling them to manage expenses incurred for their clubs and societies, allowing students to conveniently photograph receipts on their phones, with AI technology automatically populating expense claims.

“Since the app is fully integrated into iplicit, the payment routines are all handled via normal accounting procedures within the finance software, but the benefits of our integration with iplicit go far beyond making it easy for the student to claim,” added Randle.

Randle continued,The functionality allows for club presidents and treasurers, both of whom are student volunteers, to review and approve expenses and to see an up-to-date picture of the club’s income and expenditure at the click of a button. Helping them to focus on their support activities, rather than being burdened by heavy administration.”

This new collaboration comes off the back of iplicit building on its success in the student unions sector, with iplicit’s accounting software already being integrated with the comprehensive Students’ Union Management System (SUMS), to enhance efficiency for unions nationwide, with the University of the West of England’s student union’s finance team saving over 30 hours per week in the workload since the initial integration phase, with further time and efficiency savings to come.
