Francesca decided 11 years ago that she wanted to create a better life for herself and her children, so went back into education.
She’d always had a passion for accountancy, so she worked hard and focused her efforts on joining a top practice. As well as studying, she did voluntary work in the industry to become fully immersed in the subject. After graduating in 2014 she joined a top local accounting firm (after applying twice), learning about all areas of the business before falling in love with cloud-based accounting. Wanting to change the industry, she established her firm in 2019. She is now proudly the Managing Director of Future Cloud Accounting Limited
How did you get into your profession?
I was 26 when I decided I wanted to be an accountant, I loved finding out about how businesses ran, which made the most money and how! I also knew some accountants got a bad rep so I wanted to find out why and make a change! I got my foot in the door at a top 30 firm 2 years later and never looked back. I genuinely love helping businesses to progress.
What do you love most about what you do?
Showing our clients how much better their accounts will be if they allow us to do the mundane stuff for them. No business owner wants to be inputting their figures, I believe they need to see their figures and understand them, that’s where we come in!
What’s your biggest achievement?
I have 2 – Building an amazing team through hard work and determination there. Also, becoming a director and trustee of the AAT, I qualified with them and the qualification has literally changed my life!
What trends do you believe will be big in the next year?
More accountants will be marketing their business differently and making use of social media to build trust in potential clients. Personal brands will be forming amongst owners and employees too!
How important is Accountex to you and the sector?
Accountex is the best way to collaborate with other accountants, helping each other out and finding better ways to do things, it’s also good to stay on top of the latest tech too! Finding inspiration from others who are further along than you really is inspiring!
